Remember when you first started reporting and were reluctant to ask questions you thought you should know the answer to? Remember getting closer to qualifying and feeling unsure how to get through your plateau? Wouldn’t it have been nice if you had someone who had gone through these experiences that you could ask these questions of?

DRA knows this has happened to all of us. In order to support our students and new CSRs, we have developed a Student Mentor Program to give them the support they need.

Mentoring is a supporting, positive, confidential relationship in which the student/new CSR can ask those questions, gain feedback, and learn from the experience of their mentor. This relationship is goal-oriented, nurturing, and insightful.

If you are a caring individual who has knowledge and experience to share, you are the mentor we are looking for! Here is your chance to give back to your profession. We are certain you will find mentoring a rewarding experience from which you will gain as much as you give.

In order for the program to be successful, we would request a commitment of one to two hours a month for a minimum of one year, which may include communication via e-mail, phone, face-to-face meetings, and may include having the student or new reporter sit in to gain some valuable apprentice hours or work experience.

If you are interested in mentoring, please fill out the Mentor Application after reviewing the Mentor Guidelines.

If you are a student or new CSR who is interested in the mentor program, please fill out the Mentee Application after reviewing the Mentee Guidelines.
